Public Hearing Continued for Residential Zoning Amendment

The Town of Manchester’s Planning and Zoning Commission has continued the public hearing for one of its major zoning regulation updates, giving residents additional time to review and provide input.
The hearing for Application 3: Update Uses Permitted in Residential Zones (REG-0021-2026)—part of the broader Comprehensive Zoning Regulations Update—will now take place on April 6, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the public hearing room on the 1st floor of Lincoln Center (494 Main Street).
Application 3: Update Uses Permitted in Residential Zones
(REG-0021-2026)
Purpose: Ensure that appropriate uses are allowed in residential zones, expand opportunities for a diversity of housing types, and establish a rational and consistent basis for how uses are permitted.
This amendment focuses on modernizing what types of uses are allowed in residential areas. Its goals include expanding housing options, maintaining neighborhood compatibility, and creating a clearer, more consistent framework for permitted uses.
