Project Overview

The Downtown for All initiative, also known as the Downtown Manchester Improvements Project or Downtown Streetscape Project, aims to transform Main Street from Center Street to Hartford Road into a welcoming, accessible, and walkable "Complete Street," enhancing Downtown’s appeal as a destination.

  • Roadway Configuration ("Road Diet")
  • Modern Roundabouts
  • Cycle Track
  • Upgraded Traffic Signals, Sidewalks, & Lighting
  • Dedicated Turn Lanes
  • High Visibility Crosswalks and additional pedestrian safety features


This project represents a significant investment in Downtown Manchester, benefiting the entire community by completing necessary maintenance of the Main Street corridor and addressing multiple community needs identified in previous workshops and surveys.
